Roseview Manor, a 157-bed LTC facility, was completed for Central Park Lodges in Thunder Bay.
Innovatively designed, a fire rated wall separated the bedroom areas from all of the common activity area, thus each area could be treated specifically for building code requirements. A fully open design of informal common areas was enhanced by abundant natural light with a variety of outside views. All resident home areas are linked to a single storey central community space. The four bedroom wings, each containing 12-16 beds, are 3 storeys high.
The plan is highly efficient and has received much praise for its ease of operation, and economic but functional home-like layout.
