Snyder Architects Inc. has been tasked to begin design on a new 125,000-sq.-ft. school at Bloor and Dufferin streets.

Trustees with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) at their May 24 meeting selected the company to start the design on the new Bloor Collegiate Institute and Alpha II Alternative School.

The new school, to be built on the site of the former Brockton High School in Bloordale, is part of a multimillion dollar redevelopment plan that will also see the construction of a 30,000-sq.-ft. community hub and new residential buildings.

As part of the design process, the TDSB and Snyder Architects will consult with the school community to gather input.
