The T. Roy Adams Dementia Care Centre is attached to the existing 218 bed Linhaven Home. It serves residents throughout the Niagara Region and includes a Complex Care Centre of 16 beds and a Respite Centre of 8 beds.
The two buildings have been designed as small clusters of bedrooms around open living rooms, with a hierarchy of spaces reflecting that of a typical family home. They are specialized environments that provide residents with appropriate cues, security, and various therapeutic applications. The Complex Care Unit includes two resident home areas of 8 beds each and is designed to form two enclosed landscaped courtyards to which residents have access to. The Respite Care Unit consists of one resident home area of 8 beds with access to a large enclosed landscaped courtyard.
T Roy Adams Dementia CareCentre was completed by our predecessor firm, Mekinda Snyder Partnership (architect of record) in joint venture with Baker and Elmes Architects.
