The Elliott Community Continuum of Care in Guelph includes seniors’ rental apartments, a life lease building, retirement suites, and a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility.

The new four-storey building includes 85 LTC beds, 60 retirement units for semi-independent seniors, and an underground parking garage. The retirement suites are designed to be easily converted to full, LTC facilities with very little intervention or renovation, providing the community with the flexibility to meet the changing needs of the population over time by increasing the level of care as needed. The ground floor includes common services and amenities for the resident’s use including a kitchen, café, and living rooms.

The project was undertaken in two phases in order to manage the demolition and new construction effectively with the least possible disruption to the occupants. A community centre was incorporated into the design to meet the local resident needs and landscaped areas were designed around the building to provide seasonal interest and continuous blooming periods for perennials, groundcovers and shrubs.

The Elliott Community was completed by our predecessor firm, Mekinda Snyder Partnership.
