Snyder Architects* was retained by Shepherd Village as the Architect and Construction Manager for their Continuum of Care Community with seniors’ apartments, retirement suites and a life lease building.  SA employed Architect Managed Project (AMP) Delivery in response to the phased implementation necessary for the occupied building spaces. This allowed SA to meet the construction challenges on time and budget, without any disruption to day to day operations.

The most recent phases of the village comprised the long term care and seniors’ apartment components. The long term care project consisted of building a new 252 bed facility, while creating seniors’ apartments by renovating three existing floors and converting long term care rooms.

The new building was built adjacent to the existing one on this tight urban site and the existing buildings remained operational throughout the process. As a result of difficult site constraints the project was completed in 4 phases. The success of this project was highlighted by bringing the total construction cost under budget and well within the project schedule.
