Fresh City Farms’ third brick-and-mortar store is it’s largest yet, at 5,000 sq.ft., furthering its mission to improve access to fresh, organic and local foods, while supporting community, wellness and the environment.

The store brings together the company’s three brands: Fresh City Farms, Mabel’s and The Healthy Butcher, into one unified, welcoming space, with an expanded offering including a café, eat-in area for 30 people, commercial prep kitchen and large prepared foods area.

This flagship retail space at the base of the Livmore building at Bay St. and Gerrard St. East spans a city block, occupying three street frontages. The store layout maximizes natural light throughout the space, locating the café and eat-in area along the store’s main Bay St. frontage and low level open shelving along the balance of the street-facing glazing.

In keeping with Fresh City’s farming roots, exposed concrete and services throughout the space are complemented with simple warm wood accents and millwork. The majority of fixtures, including crate-like tables, are mobile and modular, allowing the layout to adapt over time or for specific uses.
